The background and experience of the principal is substantial, with six years as Director of Tourism and Leisure for Fylde Borough Council, building and running a multidisciplinary customer-focused department with around 200 staff and an annual budget of around £6 million, and two commercially successful contracting divisions.
This is supported with over 25 years experience in a management role, with a solid experience of team building, time management, preparing specifications, presentations, and work planning and scheduling from front line, hands-on, supervision to senior management.
Local Authority Working
Considerable experience in the ways of local authority working and budgets, including the role and operation of Committees and officers is also available, as is a network of tourism contacts at a senior level, and a knowledge of tourism organisations and funding sources.
Events and Attractions
Experience of event planning and organisation from international golf championships to local festivals and exhibitions.

Experience of brochure and print production and request fulfillment, advertising performance etc.

Consumer research was introduced at Fylde Tourism department following the development of the Tourism Action Plan, and over five years, the data collected on all market segments was used to inform future direction. Numerous other research projects were also undertaken, leading to considerable experience in the formulation of questionnaires and data capture arrangements.
